Jerusalem 5:30 p.m. Local Time
It is another beautiful day in the Holy City. The marketplace is teeming with people doing their evening shopping, and there are quite a few tourists as well, winding among the stalls.
With me today is campaign manager for Jesus of Nazareth, and I’m told also his very good friend, Judas Iscariot. “Welcome, Judas. It’s so nice of you to join us this evening.”
“Thank you, Jonah. It’s great to be here in the big city. I just love the energy in Jerusalem. You get the feeling that anything is possible in a place like this.”
“Well said, Judas. Anything at all is possible in such a holy and historical place. Is that something your campaign is counting on as things wind down toward election day?”
“Oh, absolutely,” Judas answered with a big smile. “Watch this,” he said, turning to the crowd. “Make way for the Son of David,” he called to them. A resounding chorus of “Hosanna for the Son of David” greeted him in reply. Judas turned back to me almost laughing for joy. “They are so ready for this candidate. It’s incredible.”
“It certainly is amazing,” I answered. How do you think your candidate will do in the remaining debate?”
“Oh, those will be no trouble,” he answered. “Jesus just has a way with people. He touches them and they respond.”
“So you are confident about his chances then?”
“Oh yes, he’s got this one nailed.”
“Thank you, Judas, for taking time to talk to us today. I know you have a lot of work to do preparing your candidate for tonight.”
“It was my pleasure,” he said.
If you are just joining us, that was Judas Iscariot, campaign manager and longtime friend of candidate Jesus of Nazareth. He has shown great confidence in his candidate, as have all the campaign managers this evening. It promises to be one heck of a show.
