Jerusalem Debate Stage 7:45 p.m. Local Time
Here we are, folks, at the show of the century. The Messianic debate is about to begin. I can see all the candidates, except of course Barabbas, are on the stage tonight. Barabbas’ request for a debate by proxy has been denied. Barry will not be able to take part in tonight’s debate, something which no doubt is hurting his supporters right now.
This debate is only the latest in a long line of Messianic and salvific confrontations. Every prophet in our great history has taken part in such a debate. None, however, claimed to be the Savior. That marks this debate as different from the others. This time around we have two candidates making that claim, or at least it was made by members of their respective campaign staffs.
It has been circulated throughout the campaign headquarters for Jesus that he styles himself “the Christ.” We have no direct quote from Jesus corroborating this statement, but it seems pretty clear from the crowds of supporters that there is something very charismatic about this candidate.
Debate preparations have been ongoing throughout the day, and they are still working on it. There seemed to be some issue with the seating arrangement, but the organizers were confident that all would be ready on time.
