Jerusalem 9:00 p.m. Local Time
Good evening. We are moments away from the first Messianic debate! It has been years since the last time we saw these kinds of crowds. I don't think anyone here is old enough to remember when Elijah faced off with the priests of the false God. We all know the story, of course, and while we don't expect fire from Heaven at this generation's debate, we are all hoping for a good show.
Miracles notwithstanding, the words we hear tonight will give everyone a clear idea of who these candidates are and what they stand for.
Joining us in tonight’s debate are front runners Jesus, Malachai, Governor Pontius Pilate, and a representative of Barabbas, who could not be here with us tonight due to the strict regulations accompanying his confinement. There has been talk of Governor Pilate’s influence being either used or intentionally not used in order to keep Barabbas out of the debate. These stories seem mostly to surface from the Barabbas campaign and as such are not considered credible.
Our moderator tonight is local celebrity Caleb, who is well-known in Jerusalem for his fairness and quick wit in interviews. Given the nature of the event, Caleb is expected to tone down the witty remarks, but this crowd would be disappointed if he didn’t come out with a few zingers.
Major issues expected to be addressed tonight include healthcare, prison system reform, and social justice. We have heard from most of the major candidates on these issues, but this is the first time they have shared a national stage.
Join us later for up-to-the-minute coverage.
