Jerusalem 8:30 p.m. Roman Standard Time
Good evening, folks. I’m here at the second debate, and the place is in an uproar.
The debate got off to a divine start, with all three candidates making strong statements about their stances on the issues. There was some early dissension by Barabbas supporters in the crowd, but Roman soldiers were able to subdue the troublemakers and transport them out of the vicinity.
Provincial Governor and former candidate Pontius Pilate is our guest moderator tonight, having removed Caleb by informal edict. His refusal to stick to the format has caused more confusion than upset, but the leaders of the Sanhedrin party have taken full advantage, attacking front-runner Jesus at every possible turn.
In a surprising move, Jesus chose to remain silent, forfeiting his two minutes and right to rebuttal again and again. When he finally chose to speak, he appeared to admit to the charge of having proclaimed himself the Son of God, which sent the entire crowd into a frenzy.
It’s getting hard to hear anything anymore, but the crowd appears to have turned against Jesus, calling for his immediate arrest, although my sources tell me that he hasn’t broken any Roman laws.
Governor Pilate has called for silence. Stay tuned for updates.
