Roman Praetorium 7:45 p.m. Roman Standard Time
We’re here at the Praetorium, the new center of activity for Messiah Madness. The mood here is sullen, as Jesus of Nazareth(or Bethlehem), the Miracle Man, the one many thought might be the Messiah, has effectively dropped out of the race.
Rumors, accusations, and humiliation have plagued the campaign for weeks following the debates. It all came to a head with the breaking news of a financial scandal involving campaign manager Judas Iscariot. Sources say he was taking money from the opposition, and he may even be implicated in the circumstances surrounding Jesus’ recent arrest.
Add to that the Sanhedrin’s sudden endorsement of Barabbas, and we may have seen the death of this campaign. As I look at the faces of the once hopeful supporters, the anguish they feel is evident. Some have turned their backs, looking to support another candidate, one with a better chance of winning.
I have tried in recent weeks to get a quote from new campaign manager Peter, but was thrice denied access.
It’s a sad, sad day for Jesus’ supporters. We don’t know when such a candidate may come again.
