Somewhere South of Nazareth 8:30 p.m. Local Time
I’m on the road from Nazareth, making my way toward Bethlehem, where it is rumored the candidate Jesus was actually born. Claims have arisen recently that he is not a true Nazarene, and stating that they have eye witnesses placing his birth in an obscure stable in the town of Bethlehem.
Critics of the claims say that they are just playing into media hype from the Pilate and Barrabas campaigns. Jesus’ supporters say they don’t care where he was born, although there are those who think that a Bethlehem birth could be helpful. Citing an old prophecy, an elder from the Bethlehem region insists that the Messiah was to be born there, but being from the town itself seems to discredit the elder in the eyes of many.
There have also been claims of Jesus having received a visit not long after his birth, from three Wise Men from the East. Some later reports have suggested that this visit most likely took place in Nazareth, and not in Bethlehem. Both claims are as yet unconfirmed.
Controversy continues to follow Jesus wherever he goes, but his followers remain loyal, and confident of a victory come election day.
