Nazareth 8:15 p.m. Local Time
I’m here in Nazareth, where word has just reached us of the confirmation of Bethlehem as the official birthplace of Jesus. Local reactions are surprising, to say the least.
“They can have him,” said one woman who refused to give her name. “He never done nothing for this town. We don’t need him.”
“He’s always been an outsider,” a small, dirty looking man told me. “Just had that air about him, you know? He was a nice kid and all, just not really one of us.”
Similar sentiment has been expressed all over Nazareth tonight and we have seen a drastic drop in Jesus’ polling numbers in the area.
We are now getting reports that numbers have risen exponentially in Bethlehem and the surrounding regions. Will it be enough to keep Jesus’ campaign afloat? Stay tuned….
