Golgotha 7:30 a.m. Roman Standard Time
The Golgotha crowd is sullen this morning, as word has come down that Jesus’ appeal has been denied.
The other candidates have declined to comment on the decision, choosing instead to restate their own qualifications for the role of Messiah. Rumors of Sanhedrin involvement in the unusually speedy verdict have been brushed off as “desperate ramblings from the opposition”.
The candidate once called The Miracle Man has suffered great humiliation by his incarceration and the treatment by the general media. Detractors have been parading up and down the street insisting that if Jesus were Messiah material, he would extricate himself from this mess.
Jesus has declined to comment on these accusations. He has kept up a steady silence throughout. I cannot even hazard a guess at what is going through his mind this morning.
Sentencing will commence at any moment. A light sentence is expected, as Governor Pontius Pilate has been quoted as saying that he has found no fault in Jesus. However, despite his personal confidence in the accused, he seems intent to give Jesus’ detractors their way.
